About our Founder Dr. Faouzi Adaimi (1930-2016).

Dr. AdaimiAs a young physician, Dr. Adaimi envisioned establishing a tertiary care center that provides high quality medical care and building lasting relationships with the community by bridging the latest medical knowledge with the country’s needs. Central to this vision was an unwavering ethical commitment to quality personalized care.

Through a group of brilliant, highly qualified physicians and paramedical teams working in harmony, he established the first building of the hospital in 1960. Keeping up with the latest in medical science and technology was a high priority strategic goal. The daily work and keeping the technological platform was a struggle through the civil war, but work never stopped. A deep belief in his vision and role in keeping the hospital staff and the community well served kept the hospital doors open through the difficult times.

Ultimately the hospital emerged as one of the most advanced in the area. During his lifetime, The Notre Dame University Hospital has blossomed into a multi-specialty university hospital embracing globalization with multiple world class university affiliations. It has transformed into a distinguished tertiary care referral center, as he envisioned, equipped with the latest technology and competing at a regional level. Our patients come from all over the world, extending the vision not only to our immediate community but to every continent seeking our exceptional care.

The vision goes on.

Thank you Dr. Faouzi Adaimi for your dream that we enjoy today as a reality.
