Sous le patronage du Ministre de la Culture, SE Dr. Ghattas Khoury, la “Fondation Faouzi et Lotti Adaimi” a organisé la cérémonie du lancement du livre autobiographique de Dr. Faouzi Adaimi intitulé “العــدّ العكســي “– (Compte à rebours) –le mardi 27 mars 2018, au campus de la Lebanese German University à Sahel Alma.
Suite aux hymnes nationaux libanais et allemand et un intermède musical interprétés par l’orchestre Barock Ensemble, un film documentaire sur la vie et les réalisations de Dr Adaimi a été projeté.
M. Malek Adaimi, neveu de Dr. Adaimi, a par la suite pris la parole pour souhaiter la bienvenue à l’auditoire et présenter les orateurs qui ont successivement rendu hommage à Dr. Adaimi, évoquant le contexte dans lequel ils l’ont connu :
- M. Walid Abboud, rédacteur en chef du journal télévisé de la MTV, producteur et animateur du programme télévisé بموضوعية .
- Docteur Alexandre Najjar, avocat, écrivain et président du Conseil des Régents de la LGU.
- Cheikh Juan Hobeiche, Président de la Municipalité de Jounieh et de la Fédération des Municipalités de Kesrouan, représenté par le Vice-Président du Conseil Municipal de Jounieh, Me. Roger Adaimi.
- M. Sleiman Haroun, Président du Syndicat des Hôpitaux au Liban.
- SE M. Martin Huth, Ambassadeur d’Allemagne au Liban, représenté par M. Michael Reuss, Ambassadeur Adjoint.
- SE Dr. Ghattas Khoury, Ministre de la Culture, représenté par le Directeur Général du Ministère, Dr. Ali El Samad.
De nombreux anciens ministres et députés, des représentants de ministres actuels, des candidats aux élections parlementaires, des personnalités militaires et civiles ont assisté à l’évènement de même que la famille nombreuse du Dr. Adaimi et ses amis.
Au cours de la cérémonie, un blason a été remis par M. Christian Adaimi, fils du défunt, au nom de la « Fondation Faouzi et Lotti Adaimi » au Ministre de la Culture. Un autre blason a également été présenté par Jounieh Lions Club à la famille Adaimi en hommage à Dr. Adaimi, un des fondateurs du Club.
De son côté, M. Nehmat Frem a souhaité honorer Dr. Adaimi en remettant à la famille un trophée au nom de la Fondation Georges Frem.
La cérémonie a été couronnée par l’annonce de la décision No. 70 prise le 26 mars 2018 par le Conseil Municipal de Jounieh, présidé par Cheikh Juan Hobeiche, d’attribuer le nom de Dr. Faouzi Adaimi à la rue adjacente à l’Hôpital Notre Dame du Liban en reconnaissance à tous les efforts entrepris par le défunt dans l’intérêt de la ville de Jounieh et de ses habitants.
La rencontre a été clôturée par la distribution du livre autour d’un vin d’honneur.

Under the patronage of the Minister of Culture, HE Dr. Ghattas Khoury, the “Faouzi and Lotti Adaimi Foundation” organized the launching of Dr. Faouzi Adaimi’s autobiography entitled “العــدّ العكســي “– (The Countdown) – on Tuesday 27 March 2018, at the Lebanese German University campus in Sahel Alma.
Following the Lebanese and German national anthems and a musical interlude interpreted by Barock Ensemble, a documentary on the life and achievements of Dr. Adaimi was shown.
Mr. Malek Adaimi, one of Dr. Adaimi’s nephews, welcomed the audience and presented the speakers who successively paid tribute to Dr. Adaimi, recalling the circumstances during which they knew him:
- Mr. Walid Abboud, editor in chief at MTV, producer and presenter of the televised program بموضوعية .
- Dr. Alexandre Najjar, lawyer, writer and president of LGU Board of Trustees.
- Cheikh Juan Hobeiche, President of the Municipality of Jounieh and the Federation of Kesrouan Municipalities, represented by the Vice-President of the Municipal Council of Jounieh, Mr. Roger Adaimi.
- Mr. Sleiman Haroun, President of the Syndicate of Hospitals in Lebanon.
- HE M. Martin Huth, Ambassador of Germany in Lebanon, represented by Deputy Ambassador Mr. Michael Reuss.
- HE Dr. Ghattas Khoury, Minister of Culture, represented by the Ministry General Director, Dr. Ali El Samad.
Many ex-ministers and deputies attended the ceremony as well as representatives of current ministers, parliamentary election candidates, military and civil figures, the extended family of Dr. Adaimi, and his friends.
During the ceremony, Mr. Christian Adaimi, son of late Dr. Adaimi, presented a blazon to the Minister of Culture on behalf of « Faouzi and Lotti Adaimi Foundation ». Another blazon was also offered by Jounieh Lions Club to the Adaimi family in memory of Dr. Adaimi, one of the co-founders of the Club.
In turn, Mr. Nehmat Frem honored Dr. Adaimi by presenting to the family a trophy on behalf of the Georges Frem Foundation.
The ceremony ended with the announcement of decision No. 70 of 26 March 2018 made by the Council of the Municipality of Jounieh, presided by Cheikh Juan Hobeiche, that attributed the name of Dr. Faouzi Adaimi to the street adjacent to Notre Dame du Liban Hospital, in recognition of all the efforts made by late Dr. Adaimi in the best interest of Jounieh and its residents.
The event ended with the distribution of copies of the book during a reception.
